The Chronomat collection, born in 1984 in collaboration with the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori, was reimagined in 2020 with a thoroughly modern integrated case and bracelet design — and the Automatic GMT 40 brought practical travel functionality to the line in a refreshingly compact and wearable format.

The Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40, reference A32398101L1A1, is a well-executed 40 mm stainless steel sport watch with a striking green sunray dial featuring luminescent applied index hour markers, a date display and a vivid red GMT hand for instant second time zone reading — a detail that makes this an exceptionally practical everyday companion for the frequent traveller. The tone-on-tone 24-hour scale on the inner bezel ring keeps the layout clean and well balanced. The four signature rider tabs on the unidirectional rotating bezel remain the Chronomat's most iconic design element, as characterful as ever. At its heart beats the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 32, running at 28,800 vph with a power reserve of 42 hours. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial. Water resistance is rated at 200 metres. The watch is fitted on the signature Rouleaux stainless steel integrated bracelet with a folding clasp.
