In 2017 Omega celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Omega Speedmaster, first launched in 1957. The commemorative event featured several new models, including the Omega Speedmaster Racing Co-Axial Master Chronometer. Omega has evolved since the introduction of the original 9300 movement, adopting the Co-Axial Master Chronometer standards. These standards ensure that the movements are equipped with anti-magnetic components and have achieved METAS certification. As a result, the caliber 9900 has emerged as the contemporary version of the older, now discontinued caliber 9300, showcasing Omega's commitment to innovation and precision.
