Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848, Omega has built one of the deepest catalogues in Swiss watchmaking — from Olympic timekeeping to the Moon and back. The Seamaster line, introduced in 1948 to mark the brand's centenary, has always been Omega's most versatile collection: spanning dress watches, divers and everything in between. The Cosmic 2000, produced in the early 1970s, is one of the more characterful and underappreciated members of that family.

Reference 166.137 is a 39 mm stainless steel automatic diver's watch, 11 mm in thickness, with a robust module inner case construction designed to keep moisture and dust from the movement. The matte black dial carries applied baton hour markers with aged lume plots and matching silvered hands, with a date window at three o'clock. At its heart beats the Omega Calibre 1012, a well-executed automatic movement running at 28,800 vph with 23 jewels and approximately 42 hours of power reserve. The mineral crystal sits above the dial. The bidirectional rotating bezel carries its original black Bakelite insert. Water resistance is rated to 60 metres. The watch is fitted on its original stainless steel integrated bracelet, reference 1198/195, with a signed Omega folding clasp.
