Girard Perregaux Laureato
Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1791, Girard-Perregaux is one of the oldest continuously operating watch manufactures in Switzerland. The Laureato, introduced in 1975, was one of the first integrated bracelet sports watches to emerge in the wake of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak — and one of the most elegant. Its octagonal bezel with visible screws and integrated bracelet give it a geometric character that has only grown in appeal over five decades. The current 42 mm generation, reintroduced in 2016, brought the Laureato fully back into the conversation as one of the most refined sports watches in its segment.
Reference 81010-11-231-BB6A is a 42 mm stainless steel automatic watch, 10.88 mm in thickness, with a brushed case and octagonal bezel with polished bevelled corners. The grey dial carries a fine hobnail Clous de Paris guilloché texture, applied hour markers and luminescent stick hands, with a date window at three o'clock. At its heart beats the Girard-Perregaux Calibre GP01800, an in-house automatic movement visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal sits above. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. The watch is presented on a black alligator leather strap and includes an additional black rubber strap, both with stainless steel deployant clasps.
This Girard-Perregaux Laureato Automatic 42 is in very good condition and comes as a full set.
