Officine Panerai was founded in Florence in 1860 as a supplier of precision instruments to the Italian Navy, and for decades its watches were produced exclusively for military use — unknown to the outside world. When Panerai opened to the public in 1993, its distinctive cushion-shaped case, crown-protecting lever bridge and oversized proportions gave it an identity entirely unlike anything else on the market. The Luminor Marina Logo series, introduced in 2018, strips the formula back to its most honest expression: an in-house hand-wound movement, clean painted dial and the iconic Panerai case at an accessible entry point into the manufacture.

Reference PAM00778 is a 44 mm stainless steel manual-winding watch, 15.6 mm in thickness, with Panerai's signature cushion-shaped two-part case and the crown-protecting lever bridge on the left side. The white dial carries black Arabic numerals at all twelve hour positions, luminescent hands and lume dots, with a small seconds subdial at nine o'clock and the blue Officine Panerai logo just above six o'clock. At its heart beats the Panerai Manufacture Calibre P.6000, an in-house hand-wound movement developed and produced at the brand's Neuchâtel manufacture, running at 21,600 vph with 19 jewels and a 72-hour power reserve. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal sits above a solid caseback.
