Omega de Ville watches were launched in 1960 and marketed as water-resistant, self-winding timepieces. Their varied and adaptable designs became very popular and by 1967, it had become the largest range within the Omega brand.

This Omega is the version with the Electronic f300 Hz movement. This movement was developed by ESA, an update by Max Hetzel of the original Bulova tuning fork. ESA supplied these to many companies like Longines and IWC. Omega was their largest customer by far, all Omega movements have a gilt finish compared to the Geneve stripes of the other marques. The Omega f300 chronometers were tested to mechanical movements standards and they easily pass. Although more accurate than mechanical movements, tuning fork movements were quickly replaced by quartz movements, which became cheaper to produce and more accurate.

This movement has been serviced by tune-fork specialist Anticvarius and is running very well. Nice collector item!
