Reference SBGA229 is a 44.2 mm stainless steel automatic diver's watch, 14 mm in thickness, with a fully Zaratsu-polished and faceted case that plays light across its curves in a way no conventionally brushed diver's case can match. The black dial carries arrow-shaped hands and swaged LumiBrite indices for strong underwater legibility, with a power reserve indicator and a date window. At its heart beats the Grand Seiko Calibre 9R65, a Spring Drive movement combining automatic winding with an electromagnetic braking system that delivers ±1 second per day accuracy and a 72-hour power reserve. The unidirectional rotating bezel carries a titanium carbide ceramic insert — the same class of material used to protect spacecraft during atmospheric re-entry. The screw-down crown and caseback are engineered so that dirt, sand and seawater residue can be easily rinsed away. Water resistance is rated to 200 metres. The watch is fitted on a stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp.
