Doxa Army Bronze Bezel
Founded in Le Locle in 1889, Doxa built its legend in 1967 with the SUB 300 — a professional diver developed with Jacques-Yves Cousteau. The Army collection draws on a different but equally compelling chapter of the brand's history: the rare military watches Doxa produced for the Swiss Armed Forces in the mid-twentieth century, watches so scarce that originals surface only occasionally on the collector market. The Army Bronze Bezel is a faithful reissue of that spirit, and marks a significant first: the debut of bronze in Doxa's collections.
Reference 785.60.031.26 is a 42.5 mm stainless steel automatic diver's watch, 11.95 mm in thickness, with a screw-down crown and solid caseback. The sand-beige dial carries a subtle camouflage pattern directly inspired by the field uniform of the Swiss Army at the time — applied lume-coated baton indices and matching hands providing solid legibility without numerals. A date window sits at three o'clock. The unidirectional rotating bronze bezel carries a hunter green ceramic insert that will develop a unique patina over time as the bronze oxidises naturally. The sapphire crystal sits above a helium escape valve at nine o'clock. Water resistance is rated to 300 metres. The watch is presented on a green rubber strap with a folding clasp and ratcheting wetsuit extension — and includes an additional NATO camouflage strap.
This Doxa Army Bronze Bezel is in near mint condition and comes as a full set. The rubber strap will fit (with divers extension closed) on a wrist up to 20cm.
