Breitling SuperOcean
Founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, Breitling has always built watches with a genuine purpose — bold, functional and unapologetically honest about what they are. The modern Superocean, drawing direct inspiration from the legendary "Slow Motion" of the 1960s, strips everything back to what matters underwater: legibility, reliability and depth rating.
The Breitling Superocean Automatic 42, reference A17375211B1S1, is a well-executed 42 mm stainless steel professional dive watch with a clean black dial featuring broad luminescent Super-LumiNova indexes and squared-off hands — a layout directly inspired by the original Slow Motion design codes and optimised for maximum underwater legibility. A subtle nod to the past sits near the tip of the seconds hand: a small circle referencing the beloved "dot" display of vintage Superocean models — a detail that enthusiasts of the older references will immediately spot and appreciate. The unidirectional rotating bezel features a ceramic insert with white Super-LumiNova elapsed time marker, virtually scratchproof and fade-resistant. At its heart beats the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 17, running at 28,800 vph with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours — a dependable and proven movement. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial. Water resistance is rated at 300 metres. The watch is fitted on a black rubber strap with a stainless steel folding clasp with micro-adjustment.
This Superocean Automatic 42 is from June 2025, is in near mint condition and comes as a full set.
