Breitling Chronomat 44 B01
Founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, Breitling has built its name on bold, instrument-grade chronographs with deep roots in aviation. The Chronomat is the brand's most iconic model — first introduced in 1984 in collaboration with the Italian aerobatic display team Frecce Tricolori, and still instantly recognisable today by its signature rider tab bezel and muscular, purposeful proportions.
The Breitling Chronomat 44, reference AB011012, is a well-executed 44 mm stainless steel sport chronograph with a nicely structured black dial featuring three crisp silver subdials in the classic panda configuration — a combination that is as legible as it is visually striking. Applied luminescent index hour markers, a date display at 4:30 and a tachymeter scale around the outer rim complete the purposeful layout. The four iconic rider tabs on the unidirectional rotating bezel remain the Chronomat's most recognisable design detail, and they look just as confident in the metal as they do in photographs. At its heart beats the COSC-certified in-house Breitling Calibre B01, running at 28,800 vph with an impressive 70-hour power reserve — a movement that enthusiasts rightly regard as one of the finest manufacture chronograph movements available. A domed double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial. Water resistance is rated at an impressive 500 metres. The watch is fitted on a stainless steel bracelet with a folding safety clasp.
This 2009 Chronomat 44 is in near-mint condition, with only minimal signs of wear on the sapphire crystal's AR coating. It comes as a full set, was serviced in both 2021 and 2024, and includes a 3-month warranty.
